A simple project that a beginner should be able to master with little effort,
but an effective realistic detail.
Airbrush control is important and targeting practice is recommended since this
project requires dealing with fairly small stencils.

Basically 2 colours are required to complete the Metal Rivet
(a contrasting light and dark, ie White and Black)
but remember polished metal will reflect the surrounding light
so you can add colour to tie in with the background or surrounding area.
Len "SteelHorse" airbrushes out of Cincinatti,Ohio, where he resides with his lovely wife.
Steel is a respected member of the Airbrush Tech community and although he claims to be a
"beginner airbrusher", he repeatedly displays the skills of a dedicated and talented airbrusher.
Between jobs he always finds the time to share his skills with others.

ANOTHER AIRBRUSH HOW-TO PRESENTED BY
Metal Rivet
1 template03
Place circle 1 and blast away with Black.
Come in with White from the top and fade down towards the middle.
Center circle 2 within the painted rivet,
and fill with Black.

In this photo I have rotated the template
(upside down from its starting position).
Fade from the bottom up this time
towards the middle, with White.
Remove the template...heres what the finished rivet looks like.
Now, lets make the metal depression around the rivet.
Center the larger circle 3 around the Rivet.
Fade from the bottom to the middle and edges with White
and then go to the top and fade down with Black.
The completed Rivet with a sheet metal dimple.
Practice your Dagger strokes and line control
and try to create the dimple shading freehand
for a more realistic effect.
CONSTRUCTION02
Here is the circle template
with the three circles we are going to use.

I have numbered the circles for reference.
